This is my own version of Halloween.
I would still keep the famous theme song at the beginning as this would help to build up the tension at the start and get the audience going. Although, I would change the slow zoom in on the Pumpkin and do a slow zoom out of the pumpkin as this would be used as a shock tactic as it gains the audiences attention straight away. Rather than have Mike Myers look at them from outside the house, I would change it to him looking through a peep hole within the house to give it a more voyeuristic feel to it and I would also have him have the binoculars on while he is spying on them which would make it a better point of view shot as it would make the audience feel as if it was them spying on the couple and put them in the position of the killer.
Also I would change the part were the guy leaves the girl, and change it to him going to the kitchen and have Mike Myers sneak up on him and kill him first, which then lead up to the death of the girl as she would then go on to ask question on why there is blood on the knife.
Although, I would keep the shot were he stands outside waiting for his parents to come, as it then builds up the tension and makes the audience want to know who the killer is, this then creates a shock tactic as the audience is astonished to find out that it was her little brother.
Rather than Mike Myers strangling Annie in the car and killing her, I would have him standing behind her while shes trying to open the car and then have him standing over her to help recreate the first scene of the film, I would use a low angle shot of the murder scene to represent that he is more powerful and dominant against the helpless weak girl, which then links back to the patriarchal society as men being more dominant and active and the women being seen as the victims and passive.
Overall, I would only have these changes made, as there isn't much I would change about the film as the pace of the shots are great as they help to keep the audience gripped and wanting more.
